Carlyle Lake, Illinois
Carlyle Lake was completed by the
US Army Corps of Engineers in 1966.
The lake is 26,000 square acres and is the largest
manmade lake in IL.
The purpose of the lake
was flood control but the extra benefit
is great seasonal fishing.
Crappie fishing in the spring and fall.
White bass fishing summer and early fall.
Bass fishing spring, summer and fall.
Walleye fishing spring thru late fall.
